Falling Bodies

by: Thomas Villegas

A simple p6 problem:

Prob:c lethur og c zyriel ni ambak sa AH

Hypo: dey wil both fall at d same time, lyk wat happend wid Galileo's expt wid d metal balls.

Observ: c zyriel ni taruk sa yuta wid an accel beyond 9.8m/s^2, while c lethur... well, galutaw2x cya hand2d na palid cya padulong sa lyb.

Analysis: air resistance enabled lethur's "lighter than air" body 2 float, however in zyr's case all air resistance is ignored becoz of his aerodynamically well rounded body.

Conc: mga gago cla kay nganu ni ambak sa AH.... Mga IGAT!... lol, peace!

Fables and Physics

by: Thomas Villegas

"Many of the events in most of the popular fables, and stories can be explained by physics. Just take a look at some of these:

the rabit lost the race 2 the turtle, because what seemed like a 2 min break was actually 1 hour.
That's relativity.

the grasshopper wasn't able to prepare 4 the winter, because of the weather's shear unpredictability.
That's chaos theory.

humpty dumpty fell off d wall, because his center of gravity was not properly aligned. That's equilibrium and elasticity.

2 of the 3 little pigs' houses got blown away, because they didn't have enough knowledge about tension, compression, air resistance, etc.
That's mechanics.

Snow White and Sleeping Beauty were both awakened because an external force was acted on them by prince charming.
That's Newton's first law of motion.

See...

Physicist in the past knew how hard it was to teach physics so they used stories to help us out."
